Matt Murphy

Matt Murphy is a co-founder and Chief Engineer of SUTOL Bio, where he leads the development of the company’s long-acting, gastric-resident oral drug delivery systems. A trained mechanical engineer, Matt oversees everything from initial device architecture and materials selection to prototyping and manufacturing strategy. Before SUTOL Bio, he conducted applied research at MIT’s Langer and Traverso laboratories. Holding a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, Matt specializes in polymer science, precision design, and preclinical validation. He is dedicated to transforming academic innovations into scalable, regulatory-compliant medical devices ready for real-world pharmaceutical use.
